Hi guys, I have been busy working on the world map.
I think I was trying to add too many features at once with the nodes. I experimented with enemy nodes that influence the surrounding nodes, but that game design seemed flawed as the player can't build or station units at certain nodes making the gameplay seem both repetitive and pointless.
Now I think I will keep the nodes linear for story progression purposes, but add one random node for illegal missions, etc.
Still unsure about the direction of the nodemap, but hoping I can figure it out.
Next update will likely be middle of next week, still need to polish up some story and make sure world node map works with existing saves.
