Hi all, recently I have been working on a new sci fi game.
So far the gameplay concept is similar to Acrux + FTL where you control a base ship and manage pilots, with some randomly generated exploration bits added in. I wanted to add some roguelike elements where the pilots get killed in action, etc.
Basic gameplay is
1. You explore to gather resources (fuel, food, ammo, metal) to upgrade your ship and pilots.
2. Story elements every X number of explorations.
Story is important, so these events will lead up to the final ending, then player can continue to play the roguelike.
3. Pilots can be killed that depletes Morale.
There's a nice funeral, if morale is 0 = game over
4. Random events occur during exploration.
5. Manage resources (depleted with exploration)
