Hey guys, I've been too busy at my real full time job.
Our company just laid off a bunch of people so I've been working 2x workload :[
Anyway, started working on the world map. The mission select screen will be replaced with this pretty much.
This adds a bit of linear gameplay, you can complete these missions to acquire materials which can be used in the colony to build factories that will generate resources over time.
I also want to use the world map to spawn boss missions and random enemy "hunts". Ideally the world map could be both linear and dynamic, adding some needed depth to the overall gameplay and feeling of progression.
It would also be interesting if enemies could take over certain nodes, and threaten the colony, Damage factories you have built, etc..........
Or you could build defenses for each node.
Lots of ideas, will explore in depth after this is hooked up and rolled out to alpha.
